mangalui, mentawai, boat charter, resort latitude zero, sumatra surf

The early Sumatran surfing season has shone brightly upon the Mangalui once again. With a group of all stars aboard we ventured out to some of the wave magnets in the early stages of the trip. With light variable wind and a nice small clean swell the boys really soaked up the fun waves.

Now with hopes of a new swell just around the corner we lifted anchor on sun down and made an over night passage to a new destination, arriving on sun up we were a bit let down by a tired sleepy looking ocean. After a good old-fashioned foxy speedboat run and a bit of exploring by the time we returned back to the Mangalui the swell was starting to kick. The boys got involved for a great afternoon/night bash and left us in good spirits for what tomorrow will bring.

The next few days were filled with great waves, classic conditions and big smiles. The foxy had us right on the money in any wind change and keep our options wide open running between some of the premier waves in the area.

A great way to kick of the 2013. Cant wait to sail out the Nomad tomorrow night. See you soon
