Conditions/Forecast
DREAMY!!! If you knew where to go.
The cyclone ripping down the middle of the Indian ocean didn’t hinder the opportunity for a trip of a lifetime. That’s the beauty of a sole purpose-built charter boat.
Mangalui Ndulu was made for this!
STANDOUT SESSIONS
Every day on and off the boat was truly a standout session from fishing, Sikakap karaoke and 24/7 banter.
The lads dreamed of scoring a solo session at Greenbush and we made it happen. Just to be out there solo for two days, the lads calling each other in and pushing each other is going to be a session that will be talked about for years.
It was bit of a rough ride to get there but the two-hour early morning crossing was quickly forgotten once the first barrel went down…. and then followed by like maybe 100 more…
Wave of the trip
Touchy subject this one.
It was early morning, and we were sitting at a sleepy but fun right, and with a boat full of natural footers they opted to sit tight and wait for the tide to drop…Veil and I were watching a left across the bay and Veil being goofy asked “can we go?”.
Sure enough, Veil all a sudden is pulling into to some epic tubes and one particular one earned “wave of the trip”.
You know the rule…never miss a Foxy Lady mission!
The group
Such an epic team of lads made up this group of young frothers from the Sunny Coast. Nine natural footers and the one token goofy, that all ripped and had a common goal - get barreled!
Personalities
When everyone is on the same like-minded page it really creates the best trips. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Laughter will always cure a hangover!
Food
Everyone was blown away on the food daily but when the boys got a whiff of Situ’s famous rendang on the slow cook the excitement was real and the final product did not disappoint.
Fish on
Unsure if these qualify as fishing trips or booze cruises this week.
We had success with Hunter hand pulling in an absolute stoinker of a doggy and the rest of the fish made great sashimi and ceviche.
Plenty of fish and plenty of barrels!
“We have to do this every year”
Saxon
We got to do this every year
Special Thanks
Always the crew for never stopping but big shout out to Luke and the Sunny Coast lads who made it a trip for the ages.
Writing this has me excited already for the next one!
Yours truly, Uncle Lip.
