Stella weather and a loaded forecast.

With the guest request to get up north we turned on the donkeys of the Mighty Mango and set sail around the Mentawai Islands in to Stella weather and a loaded surf forecast. Excitement was high amongst the guest with the old boys from sunny coast and their fearless Coffs harbour leader plus Luca managed to scam his dad and jump on for his first taste of Indonesia and we believe it was a good one!

With so much ground covered we were able to tick off all variety of waves from 400 meter rights to short slabby lefts. Its truly amazing the playground West Sumatra has to offer.

The miles traveled really paid off when waking up after a overnight travel to a wave you dream about as a child. Might I had we surfed it solo for three days. It truly was a dream come true and we like to call these moments “unicorns” because you have to pinch yourself is and wonder if this is really happening.

Back up north for the next trip hopping for a bit of ground hog action. Forecast is looking good. We love this time of year. Lower crowds, great weather and fun swell.
